Giant Steampunk Puppet at Fringe World

Starting this Australia Day long weekend in the capital of the western part of the Antipodes, Perth, Western Australia, is Fringe World, comprising a wide variety of entertainment. Of particular interest is the event by the Spare Parts Puppet Theater, as they will be putting on a show featuring Mechronos, a seven meter tall, two tonne mechanised puppet with a decidedly steampunk feel to it.

On August the Third and Forth of this year, Two Thousand and Thirteen, Steamfest Australia will be held, Australia's & New Zealand's Expo / Festival / Con / Faire / Community for all things Steampunk, held in Ipswich, Queensland.
It will feature artists, performers, music, designers, authors, workshops and more. Even a steam train. One guest attending is US writer G. D. Falksen. Organisers are expecting up to 30,000 steampunk enthusiasts.

The antipodean broadcasting service, better known as the ABC,
recently made a broadcast about steampunk, and specifically about Full
Steam Ahead: The Antipodean Steampunk Show. The broadcast can be
accessed via the portal to the ABC.
Full Steam Ahead: The Antipodean Show is being showcased at Queensland's Artisan Gallery, between the dates of October 26th and December 15, in the year two thousand and twelve. It features sculpture, jewellery, fashion, film, photography, weaponry, clocks, lighting and taxidermy, as produced by the Australian steampunk community.
